Double ply yarn is less Japanese looking, but it’s a lot stronger and more durable. It does however feel just as smooth on the surface and is very flexible.

Great set of ropes!
I debated whether I should get raw rope and do the whole thing myself, or buy this set, and I’m so fucking happy I decided to buy it. I might get a bit woo-woo now, but having read the website and knowing the passion that went into creating the ropes, you can feel it when you touch the ropes.
I’m a complete newbie, so I don’t know how to review the technical aspects, but they feel great. I expected them to feel very stiff, but that’s not the case at all. And the best part to me is that you can just start tying right out the gate.
Oh, and that lovely sound when the ropes are under tension…it’s like a crackling fire.
