After weeks of preparation, miles of ropes passing my hands, it was finally THE weekend. BoundCon was going to happen. Two years ago we already lost our BoundCon-virginity, so we knew a bit what was coming. A weekend full of the most outrageous looking people, men with cameras, great bondage performers, lovely models and friends.
Of course we went there to sell lots of ropes… but the event itself is also so much fun. Just to see all those people from a "scene" and yet so diverse.
Let's start at the beginning. Last time, my lovely old red Citroën did a great job getting us to Munich and back. This time she needed a rest. We rented a car. Stacked it full of ropes and got going on that thursday. Traffic was slow in The Netherlands….in Germany we did a lot better on the speeding part. When we arrived at the hotel just outside Munich, 9 hours later, it was HOT. 30°C or something. The hotel was a typical Bavarian Gasthof. A strange environment for two people going to a fetish/bondage/SM convention :)

We contacted Bob and Chantal of RopeMarks.com who were in a different hotel in Munich. They had so much energy that they already had started building their booth at the Zenith, where BoundCon took place. We just decided to relax a bit and save our energy for the Friday and Saturday. First we went for something easy and fast to eat, so we found a McDonalds in small town next to ours. We were looking for a parking space nearby and saw the big poster of BoundCon, almost next to the Mac there.. *LOL* Of course Debora had to be photographed next to it ;)
Friday started off early. We wanted to be at the Zenith early to have enough time to set up our booth. Of course when we got there first we had to meet and say hello to some people. Bob and Chantal were already there. Matthias of SchlagZeilen and BondageProject.com, Zamil of ArtSensual.com, Lew Rubens BoundnDetermined.com and Kink.com and lots more… I'll get to that later.
We had a booth no further than 5 meters from RopeMarks and our opposite neighbours were the people of Alcova.biz, the first Fetish/SM shop in Rome.
After some time we got our tables to start the booth and we set it all up in record time.
BoundCon opened at 15:00 for the public. Philippe Boxis (French-Shibari.com) was one of the first we saw with one of his lovely models, Miss Kinky. A lot of people came by to say hello or introduce themselves and we did some of that too, walking around the convention.
Friday was a slow day, for business that is. But a good day to meet new people and people we hadn't seen in a while. Talk, hang around, be alert, see new things, see strange things, nice things. To be in a place like that with people that can just do and dress as they like is great. We ourselves are not really people for outrageous outfits. I don't have a leather or latex or rubber fetish…. But I do like seeing it on other persons, preferably women of course ;) One of the nicest examples I saw there was Mina (The Secrets of Mina), the lovely petite red headed (or was it pink?) girl from France.
When there were bondage demos going on a crowd gathered around that spot. Of course the main part of the people watching were men. Men with cameras. BIG cameras. Cameras that were clicking away to record every detail.... and I mean every detail. Hmmm. Not really my taste, but ... well.. they were there too.
When the first day Friday ended at 00:00 and the Con closed, we were pretty tired. We got back to our hotel and just crashed, having dealt with a lot of impressions.
Saturday started off very relaxed. We were eager to do better business-wise that day. But we had time enough before the convention started at 15:00 again.
So we hung around the hotel a bit, did some groceries and then went for the second day, hoping there were going to be more people. And my God... were there...The place was packed Saturday! People passing by, feeling, touching, enjoying our ropes; nodding, saying hi, buying. They came from everywhere. BoundCon is a truly international European event, but also Americans visit it.
Bob and Chantal (Ropemarks.com) were doing demos in their place. They received a lot of attention.... and man!!! Are they good or what? Bob knows exactly what does and does it beautifully.... and Chantal.. is just gorgeous in and out of ropes.
We had a look around in turns; we can't leave our booth unattended of course.
Pedro (ByKonijnArt.com) was there too of course with his great paintings. He is a real artist and a nice guy.
In a lot of places there was bondage going on. Matthias had a great place for bondage in his booth and he's a true artist and fast technical rigger. I love how he ties. It's fast, it's hard it's graceous. Zamil seemed to be busy all the time. Creating lovely packages of his girls there. I saw Bruce of Esinem.com doing some great stuff. Nice guy to talk to also and building a verrrrry good name.
Our booth was directly beside the place where Lew Rubens had his bondage stage. On the moments he gave his demonstrations there it was so crowded that passing by was almost impossible. Girls are just offering themselves to be tied by him. It was good to see him again. We talked some rope: he uses mine. :)
Saturday was equally hot as Friday, but nonetheless all this bondage around inspired us to do a little bit ourselves. I tied Debora up with just a ushiro takate kote (torso and arms bondage) and a bit around her lovely ass. A few flyers in her hands behind her back and sent her off. She wasn't out of my sight. After a short while I untied her because it was just too warm for her. And just as I was doing that, Uwe and slavegirl Anna Rose (Alterpic.com) came to say hello. We've met them before, really nice people.
The rest of the evening was busy for us. As people were going out, they didn't forget to come by our booth and take some lovely ropes home to try what they all saw at the various demos and shows on stage. People must have gotten inspiration from all the beautiful bondage they had seen.

In between things, during the whole convention, we in turns went outside to have a cigarette. The Zenith was of course a non smoking zone, so sometimes there were a lot of people standing outside indulging to their habits ;) Enjoying the good (warm) sun there seeing people you know taking a break also, gets the best conversations started ;) Getting to know others better is always a nice thing.
Now the end of the convention for us was near. We were only there for two days, Friday and Saturday, because we just had to get back on Sunday. We have children and a job.
Before we started to take everything out of our booth and pack, there was one thing I had to do. I went to see if Jewell Marceau was still there. She is a REALLY famous bondage and fetish model and if you don't know her you should be ashamed. Anyway. Debora likes her A LOT too and she mentioned a few times that she wanted to be in a pic with her. So I just asked Jewell. She said yes, but it had to be done quickly.... because she had a photo shoot in a few minutes. I ran to Debora, who suddenly had cold feet.... but I dragged her over to Jewell Marceau's booth and Ms Marceau undid her ponytail, took off her jacket and posed so sweetly with D. Debora just smiled and got a bit (a lot) shy. That was NICE! After that we packed our stuff in the car fast and we were done.
But... the Saturday ended with a party in the VIP-zone. Lew Rubens started with the first show. A blindfolded and fun suspension show. There was food and drinks. There were even more outrageously dressed people. Well, to cut short... it was fun.
We were at the table with Bob, Chantal, Matthias and a bunch of other people and we had some laughs and nice talk. After a short while..... we felt we had to go. It had been a long day and we were tired. Verrrry tired. But satisfied after a great weekend.On Sunday we drove back home with our super speedy rental car in a record time of 8 hrs! My God! Munich is further away than it seems on a map!
So... that was it. BoundCon V was great. It has been an adventure for us again. Relaxed, busy, fun, exciting. Now... how about BoundCon VI ?
